Past Stuff

I was Head of Operations Research, Swift and Company in Chicago; Head of the Operations Research Group, College of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin; Distinguished Visiting Professor at Texas A&M University and the University of Texas College of Business; Distinguished Research Fellow, College of Information Science and Technology, Peter Kiewit Institute, University of Nebraska at Omaha; and now I am Director, Institute for Wellbeing Management, Bellevue University.

I am a software technology entrepreneur having created multiple successful software companies from start up through successful products in the worldwide market place. I have the reputation of being a visionary for product innovation and creativity, and abilities to attract, mentor, and retain exceptional employees.

A significant past achievement in business entrepreneurship included Execucom Systems Corporation and its product IFPS (Interactive Financial Planning System).  IFPS became the international standard for business financial planning and modeling.  Execucom was in the top 10 US software companies in 1984 when acquired in 1984.  I am generally associated with the fields of DSS (Decision Support Systems) and GDSS (Group Decision Support Systems).  Past achievements in the academic realm that I’m proud of was that I created the new IT Innovation degree at the Peter Kiewit Institute, University of Nebraska, Omaha and I was the Nebraska Technology Professor of the year in 2008.
